Privacy policy

Wattpicker (“we”) operates wattpicker.com. This page describes what data we collect, what we do with it, and your choices. Plain language; no surprises.

What we collect

• Email address — only when you set a price alert. We use it to send the alert and a one-click unsubscribe link. We don't add it to a marketing list.
• IP address (hashed) — when you click an outbound affiliate link via /go/[token], we record a SHA-256 truncated hash of your IP plus the user-agent string. We use this to attribute clicks and detect abuse. We never store the raw IP.
• Cookies — admin sessions (HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax) plus the Google Analytics _ga / _ga_* cookies described below.
• Google Analytics 4 — we use GA4 to understand which fit-test funnels and recommendations actually lead to purchases. GA4 sets first-party cookies and reports aggregate page views, fit-test completions, configurator views, and outbound affiliate clicks (including the destination retailer and listing). When you click a Buy button we also send a server-side conversion event so we can attribute the click even if your browser blocks the GA script. We don't use Google Ads, remarketing, or cross-site advertising features. See Google's privacy policy.
• What we don't collect — no advertising pixels, no remarketing tags, no social-share trackers, no fingerprinting libraries.

Affiliate links

When you click a “Buy” button, we redirect you through our /go/[token] route to the retailer with our affiliate ID appended. The retailer's own privacy policy applies once you arrive on their site. See our affiliate disclosure.

Email service provider

We use Resend (resend.com) for transactional email delivery. Email content and addresses transit through Resend's infrastructure for sending and bounce handling. See Resend's privacy policy.

CDN + DDoS protection

We sit behind Cloudflare, which sees your IP at TLS termination. Cloudflare's privacy policy applies to that hop: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe — every alert email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
• Delete your data — email tom@wattpicker.com with the email address you signed up with and we'll delete the associated alert records.
• California / GDPR — if you live in CA, EU, or UK and want to access, port, or delete your data, email us. We'll respond within 30 days.
• Block analytics — most ad/tracker blockers (uBlock Origin, Brave Shields, etc.) block GA4 by default and Wattpicker continues to work without it.

Children

Wattpicker is intended for adults purchasing power equipment. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy materially, we'll update the “Last updated” date and announce changes prominently on the site for at least 30 days before they take effect.
